The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is the preeminent nonprofit the military caregiver space. Founded by Senator Elizabeth Dole in 2012, the Foundation adopts a comprehensive approach in its advocacy, working with leaders in the public, private, nonprofit and faith communities to recognize military caregivers’ service and promote their well-being. VetFran works with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes Initiative on the Joint Military Caregivers Taskforce. The soon-to-be-launched taskforce will compose of the twenty largest home care based franchisors in the United States, which together are working to create an employment portal for military caregivers in the home care space.
