30 Heroes for 30 Years: Lou Schager, Mosquito Joe

Lou Schager grew up as one of 14 siblings. Wanting to break free from the crowd and follow a dream of flying, Lou earned an appointment to the Naval Academy and graduated in 1990. From there, he graduated Top Gun and flew fighter jets (F14s and FA18s) off of aircraft carriers. His talents in the air led him to serve five combat tours, and Lou eventually commanded his own squadron. For his final posting as a Naval Captain, he commanded NAS Oceana in Virginia.

Upon his retirement, Lou went to work for Mosquito Joe, a member of the Neighborly family of brands. He has been president of the brand since 2017. 10% of the franchisee owners at Mosquito Joe are Veterans, and Lou is always eager to see that number grow. That is why he has been a member of the VetFran leadership committee for several years.

Lou enjoys developing processes and training methods that will encourage future growth for Mosquito Joe, as well as provide a better quality of service for the customers. He encourages everyone on his team to have a ‘Questioning Attitude’ and pursue ‘Procedural Compliance’. If the team does that, they know they can count on Lou to back them up.

If you are seeking a great opportunity in the pest control industry, Lou and his team would be happy to chat with you about how you can build a business that will allow you to continue to serve your community. Check out their profile on VetFran’s website today!
