30 Heroes for 30 Years: Ted DeWitt, Signarama
On March 29, we recognize National Vietnam War Veterans Day. A Vietnam War veteran himself, Ted DeWitt, of Signarama knows what it means to serve. And, he’s put a special focus on mentoring veteran entrepreneurs and giving back to his community. Ted has more than 40 years in the graphic arts industry, many at large corporations, and since 2009, has been a local, franchised business owner in Covina, CA.
According to Ted, Signarama, a 5-star member of VetFran, was “the most independent franchise that I ran across.” This gave him a level of autonomy to be in business for himself, where he could make deals with people he wanted to and make decisions based on his experiences, but he wasn’t by himself on the business journey.
In addition to the independence that being a small business owner brings, giving back to his community has always been important to Ted. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Covina Chamber of Commerce, and provides signs for the fire and police departments and various local non-profits at little to no cost.
If you’re looking for information about how your experience as a Veteran can translate into the business world, look no further than Army Veteran Ted DeWitt. In the just-published Bulletproof Veteran podcast, he spends an hour sharing his knowledge and insights into why Veterans are the perfect fit for franchises.
